My family, originally from Pakistan, moved to Canada with the hope of creating a better life. The process of adjusting to a new culture and navigating the complexities of immigration has significantly influenced my approach to therapy.

In my practice, I adopt a holistic and integrative approach, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as client-centred therapy, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. Truth be told, I was lost in life until about the age of 25. I didn’t know what I was doing with myself after high-school. I got into welding, coaching, even archaeology.

It wasn’t until I started learning about psychology that I was able to find direction in life. In learning the theories I gained a better understanding of myself, my nature and my priorities. It not only gave me understanding, but it helped me find a path in life that I could be passionate about.

My passion is guiding those who have faced traumatic experiences and unimaginable losses through the unique challenges of grief, and the burnout faced from being a caregiver to your loved ones. I believe in using an empathic and collaborative approach to treatment, and providing a safe space to acknowledge how past experiences have influenced current problems. My goal is to work together to create self-awareness and maintain emotional wellbeing while healing from grief, trauma and burnout.

I like to take a psychodynamic approach to treatment, which involves exploring unconscious thoughts and feelings, and the influence of past experiences on present behaviour and emotions.
